RE: Was it invisible when it was Israel?

It WAS visible. The only thing is you CANNOT touch it, or you die. A man named Uzzah died when he touched the ark.

According to the Bible,

2 Samuel 6:6, 7 - “And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God.” [NKJV]

In the Old Testament, the Philistines actually captured the Ark and placed it beside the statue of their giod, DAGON, as a trophy for their people to see.

The statue of their god DAGON was toppled miraculously the next day.

I was poking fun at the headline. I know full well the ark was visible, at least until the Bible inconveniently stopped mentioning it. And that’s where all the legends of the Queen of Sheba and the Jewish exiles fleeing up the Nile and Prestor John start.

Some thanks he gets for trying to be helpful.
