That is not the point of this argument my friend. We are saving $300 a month using LED’s. Cars are another matter. You cannot compare combustion engines to lights, candles or buggy whips.

Do you seriously not get the analogy he alludes to?? Seriously?? The point is liberty. The point of EVERYTHING is liberty. I don't care if a given technology is the least efficient idea ever conceived. It's stillbeyond the federal government's jurisdiction to decide whether or not someone is "allowed" to manufacture it or whether I'm "allowed" to used it.

History is chock full of examples of the old being replaced by the new through natural market forces.

Not too many folks using wooden plows or stone knives these days. They were replaced by metals because people wanted the more durable metal implements. Not many kids going to arcades and stuffing quarters into video games. Market forces closed the arcades and put them into a small home based format. Can you even buy a black and white TV these days? If not, its because not enough were sold to make it profitable to manufacture them.

I have no doubt that the incandescent bulb and internal combustion engine will one day go the way of the dinosaur, but in a free world it will be because the consumer no longer wants them.
