BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah—

Excitement turned to pain after a man suddenly received a shotgun blast to the buttocks while bird hunting with several companions Sunday.

Pipper the yellow labrador was the triggerdog behind the blast the sent his 46-year-old hunting companion to the hospital. Somehow, caught up in the excitement of the hunt, Pipper set off the shotgun that struck Brigham City native Robert Cottingham in the lower back and buttocks.

There's another thing we have in common. Eight years for me, and I got so sick that I reluctantly gave up my vegetarianism/veganism.

Interesting. Mrs. Slim had been a vegetarian (not vegan) for 15 years when I married her, and she did triathlons and ran about 4 marathons a year. I cured her with bacon and got her to embrace sloth.

In truth I was spending my time thinking about collecting the whole set of Airborne Microbes. I did some calculations...

If I put one of each type in a one cubic inch plexiglass display case I would need to build a Wal-Mart sized trophy room for them all. (Just think of all the critters I could kill and maim building that!)

I think I will stick to collecting Happy Meal toys. Plus I get a Death Burger and Lard Fries (thank you Allahpundit for those appetizing names) with each one.

There isn’t one person on FR who has a dog, had a dog... once knew someone that had a dog.. that believed when given the choice of meat and a sweet potato.. that the dog chose the sweet potato. I should have pinged you earlier for some playtime and for that... I apologize.
