A 'guide to conscience"? Well, making a lot of TV appearances on behalf of what should be, her husband's conscience. And yes, Rick did say; it was 'HER' idea that he make this altruistic decision. (Could he not just assume a bit more responsibility for this critical decision?) Clearly, her 'voice' means a great deal.

As for ambitious; think she is quite ambitious; if only 'for' her husband - but surely; not without some self-interest here. And still think; if it just a matter of 'conscience'; then think we should be absolutely clear; 'whose' conscience comes into play; on the big decisions that Presidents must make.

The events that the Governor has laid out about his decision are quite clear. He had been thinking about running, and lots of people had been urging him to run. The decision was made when he and his wife were talking about the state of the Nation and she said it was time for him to get out of his comfort zone and make a difference.

If you are going to bring in wives, I think you should contrast Anita Perry with a couple of other wives of candidates: one who votes and says she’s a Democrat, another who, (worse,in my opinion) slept with a married man and who, rumor has it, required a bribe to go along with her husband’s race.
