I don’t think you can say that we Cain supporters are in denial. I am sorely disappointed. Yes, about the affair if true, but two other things really bother me. If I decide to say, I don’t know his marriage, the troubles he’s had, if he lived virtually alone but didn’t want to divorce, and this was his only companionship, there are still things to affect me.

Why would this woman turn on him? I guess that answer would be money. But if he were a wonderful guy, why wouldn’t she just stay quiet and allow him to run for President?

And why, if you had a complicated marital situation, would you run for president as a conservative?

I do see serious character flaws here. How can he say he’s done nothing wrong? He knows that the general conservative public finds adultery wrong.

“I don’t think you can say that we Cain supporters are in denial.”

This one is certainly not in denial. If Herman Cain is the man these women are portraying him as, then he is the last man we want to put in office. Character does matter. But my Cain bumper sticker came off the car after that train wreck of an interview on Libya. Intelligence and judgment of the man with his finger on the button matters too. I’m afraid we are down to Newt and Mitt. Yikes!
