Its been almost two years since I posted at Big Hollywood regarding the Top 10 Most Overrated Directors of All Time. Ive had a chance to reflect and think about the crimes I committed in that post. And, to paraphrase Mr. Eko from the greatest TV show of all time, Lost, I ask no forgiveness because I have committed no sin
except leaving Spike Lee and Tim Burton off the list, that is.
So, because you all enjoyed that list so much, and because I apparently have a death wish, its time for another: The Top 10 Most Overrated Actors/Actresses of All Time

I haven’t seen one movie that Clooney gave a memorable performance. Can’t stand him.

Clooney is not even a actor. Listing him as an overrated actor is a compliment.

Did you see him in the Shining and As Good as it Gets? 2 characters could not be more different. I don’t care how many people diss him on this thread, he’s in my top 5 and I’m sticking to it. I like him.

Did you know they were considering another actor for
The Shining but he was too crazy?
Robin Williams.
Robert Deniro was also up for it.

Clooney was pompously perfect in O Brother, Where Art Thou.
Did you see it?

Oh good, I ordered it from NetFlix. I think I might have seen “Ghost and Mrs. Muir.”
I have almost all of the Hitchcock movies, and read one review that said “Gaslight” was close to a Hitchcock.
thanks!
To: DollyCali
Super, thanks for the review. I don’t know how I missed that one before...
To: catman67
I agree. I have that movie too — and like Jean Reno and Gary Oldman in it too — I never cared for Portman’s movies after that (granted, have not seen all of them).
To: gorush
I never got the “Gary Cooper” appeal. A wooden cigar store India emoted as much as he did.
Like you, I like his movies, but if that guy was a great actor, I missed my calling.

Not only was I surprised that idiot wasn’t on the list, but that it took 40 posts for someone to mention him.

Wow. Williams would have sucked. DeNiro would have made it very boring. There are some amazing stories about people who didn't take or get certain roles, and how the actor that was eventually chosen made film history.
Frank Sinatra as Dirty Harry???

Jack Nicholson was great in A Few Good Men, As Good As It Gets, Anger Management, Hoffa, and many others. This guy must be on the outs with Nicholson for some reason, but Nicholson is a one-of-a kind actor.

I agree 100% but you forgot The Shining. Who can ever forget him in that role. If he’s in a film, I’m going to watch it. Period.
