Just annnouced on FOX News
fair enough. I’m hoping this all goes away, but I fear this is going to continue until we hear from the women.
I have no sympathy for them, at least if the current allegations are the extent ot it. If I complained every time a boss or co-worker made me “unconfortable,” (and sought cash for my discomfort) it would fill a file drawer.
I admit I had ONE instance of a creep that would not leave me alone. I did not bother with HR...I went straight to the police and made an official complaint/statement since it was bleeding over to outside of work. They brought him in to have a little chat and that was the end of his bothering me whatsoever.
also, I have a husband who would rip apart anyone who I told him was bothering me. You should have pepper sprayed the guy or something. I simply don’t put up with that crap....but going through the hoops of HR just isn’t my thing.
I take it the NRA approved her statement?
I have a retired friend who is Jewish and worked for a German chemical company. He said that the baseline settlement for a disgruntled Jewish employee was $100K. Meaning, a Jewish employee filing a weak discrimination/wrongful dismissal suit could expect a minimum $100K settlement offer. To what extent he had factual knowledge or was just repeating urban legend I do not know.
I had one instance of what I would consider to be true sexual harrassment. I addressed it with him and evidently he didn’t take me seriously. A follow up conversation with his boss got the point across.
Ironically, we ended up being pretty good friends after that. He wasn’t a bad guy...just dense in that regard.
Crazy, isn’t it. I think it is the conservative part that makes their heads spin 360 degrees.
Does IG Farben still exist? I speak German; I need the name of the company because my dead ancestors would be thrilled for me to work there and get 100 grand out of the co complicit with their murders.
Wasn’t married at the time. I didn’t put up with it, but I didn’t hit the guy.
I handled it the way we were instructed.
Tell the person to leave you alone, that you are uninterested and that the advances were making you uncomfortable. If you are still being bothered, tell a team lead. If that goes nowhere, go to HR. The team lead was supposed to intervene, and take care of it. I guess they decided putting the jerk on a different shift was good enough. They should have moved him to a different department. I’m certain they had more problems with him and other women later on. He was that TYPE.
If he had ever bothered me outside of the building he would have taken a little Louisville slugger to the throat.
If the establishment gets its way and rams Romney through as the nominee, Palin must run as an independent. She would sweep most of real America; Romney might win Utah.
Don’t you know that her father is really, really proud of her?
I would say of all the male bosses I have had, at least 80% hit on me. And one was a gay male. I let them all slide, most were unaggressive about it. Only one I had to report. And that was because he was being more gross about it, not cute or funny. Saying things like “you need a little of This” kind of stuff. I told him if he did it again I’d report him. He did it again. I gave him one last chance. He did it again. I reported him.
Per Wiki, IG Farben still exists although the vast majority of it was split into Agfa, BASF, Bayer, Celanese, Aventis and Clariant.
IG Farben was officially put into liquidation in 1952, but this does not mean the company ceased to exist as a legal entity; up to today, it is still in existence as a corporation "in liquidation", meaning that the purpose of the continuing existence of the corporation is being wound up and dissolved in an orderly fashion. As of 2010, its shares are still traded on German markets.
Are you female? Some women get hassled a hell of a lot, no matter what they do to fend off advances. It just happens. I know that most men just think they are being cutey-pies, and some are, but many try to grab a mile if you give them an inch.
An employee should be able to leave lecherous behavior at the door, but a lot don’t. I’ve known some women that were as bad as the worse men though. And I have heard of men filing such complaints also. I honestly don’t know why people can’t leave such behavior out of the workplace. The office isn’t supposed to be a Parisian sex club for pete’s sake.
Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones and Juanita Broaddrick knew the press would beat them up for being raped, threatened, and coerced by a democrat... And they STILL came forward.
The only thing that would happen to women who came out against a Republican is they would be media heroes.
I’ve worked in only two places where it was REALLY bad.
I also was a cocktail waitress for a short while in VA Beach - and I got more respect from the drunken military guys than I got in some workplaces. The military guys would actually take “no” for an answer, drop it, and behave.
