well, I am to meet a friend for breakfast before worship this morning so I best get ready. He is in town for a few days and was involved in a family event last night. He too is a photographer & will be bringing me the pix to see. He will be on his way back to Connecticut after we eat. He was in my HS grad class & we were good friends throughout high school & lost contact til our 25th reunion, the first we both attended
Fall is a great time here..love it!
Enjoy your friend..

A Family Trait
November 20, 2011
Theres an old Sunday school song that periodically comes back to my mind. Its words testify to the blessing of the peace that Jesus so generously gives: I have the peace that passes understanding down in my heartdown in my heart to stay!
There is something missing in that well-intentioned song, however. The peace of God is truly a gift we enjoy in our hearts as we fellowship in His presence (John 14:27; 16:33). But He never intended for us to keep all of that peace to ourselves. Peace is a gift to be shared with those around us. As Christians, it should mark our relationships and characterize the environment of our churches.
In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, Blessed are the peacemakers (Matt. 5:9), which indicates that we are to be intentional about bringing peace to our relationships. Since we are prone to be troublemakers instead of peacemakers, this is important advice. So, what does peacemaking look like? Peacemakers are those who turn the other cheek (v.39), go the extra mile (v.41), and love their enemies while praying for those who persecute them (v.44).
Why should we do this? Because God is a peacemaker, and when we make peace we are called sons of God (v.9). Peacemaking is a family trait.

That is so sweet, teenie, thank you~~~~!
I had heard the story of the four sons but you brought it to life in the beauty of your graphics and words. Beautiful work, Dolly. Thank you. (I know you’ve gone to church by now.) Have a beautiful day.
Thank you for your lovely autumn opening and words, Meg. And your fall replies are all beautiful!
Wonderful lesson in our DB this morning, Mr. Mayor. We thank you!
You’re welcome, Jaycee..I am happy you are enjoying them.
It’s 74 here today..going into the 8os..
I do notice a few leaves have fallen overnight.
All of my leaves have fallen. There’s a few stragglers hanging on but the trees are quite bare now. My sons picked the leaves up with the lawnmower about every two weeks. One more sweeping and they’ll be gone and waiting for the snow...LOL!
A couple of nights ago, we got down to 26 but the temps rose to the 50’s up in the day. We were about 43 last night and are up to 60 now. We will be having very cold days and now and then a warming up. I DO NOT LIKE the real cold weather!

We’ve had some low 30s nights..It’s that time of year here..warm/cold.
Last Thanksgiving day the temps dropped 40 degrees while I was at Thanksging gathering..LOL..It was a shock to walk to the car.

Bless This House
Bless this house, O Lord we pray,
Make it safe by night and day;
Bless these walls, so firm and stout,
Keeping want and trouble out;
Bless the roof and chimneys tall,
Let Thy peace lie over all;
Bless this door, that it may prove
Ever open to joy and love.
Bless these windows shining bright,
Letting in Gods heavnly light;
Bless the hearth a-blazing there,
With smoke ascending like a prayer;
Bless the folk who dwell within,
Keep them pure and free from sin;
Bless us all that we may be
Fit, O Lord, to dwell with Thee,
Bless us all that one day we
May dwell, O Lord with Thee.
Oooops!! So sorry...but great minds run on the same track!?
Loved the graphic and the music and video were truly beautiful. Thanks!
