FreeRepublic is an island of sanity! It does not need any changes...it is perfect the way it is and easy to navigate. Who needs all those ads flashing, blocking the page, and clogging up the pipes? Who needs the unnecessary graphics? The people who post provide enough of that. This site is great...commercial free, black & white, and down to earth, which is rare these days.

I have donated already, but am going to donate $10.00 more right now. If everyone who clicks on FreeRepublic would also do so, the goal would be set in no time.
