I have a feeling in my bones that Civil War will erupt between now and November 2012. I'm thinking the election will be the trigger. No matter who wins, the other side will go ballistic. We are two separate nations occupying the same land. We need to start thinking seriously about separation before things get real ugly. If Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia can split peacefully, so can we. One nation, under G-d? Not so sure these days...

Peaceful?? Nato bombed the **** out of the former Yugoslavia! And there was horrific fighting - still is for all we know, between ethnic groups in the the Balkan areas.
If things get that bad, forget peaceful - it'll be a bloodbath.

One nation, under G-d? We are no longer one nation under God.....we are half a nation under God and the other half is trying to eliminate him.

“two separate nations” is exactly right, IMHO. We are no longer in the discussion and debate phase, we are moving into the fight phase. I would prefer the separation as to outright civil war.
In reality, separation would cause the civil war itself. You would have forced relocation and people would fight.

Again, we can either do this peacefully or have a desperate pitched struggle to the bitter end. I am good either way.
