When a vehicle eclipses the flesh-and-bone actors and becomes the superstar of a filmthat's when it's a great movie car. There are dozens of memorable cars in film, but to crack the top 10, a vehicle must influence a generation, inspire car culture, and become the stuff of every kid's dreams. Pretty good list. Bond's DB5 was supremely cool, as was Steve McQueen's Mustang in Bullitt. Not as up on a couple of the newer selections, though that's more about the films themselves than the classic rides. Personally, I'd have put Christine on the list before anything from Vanishing Point or Fast and Furious.
Oh yeah, and where the heck is the 64 Malibu from Repo Man? That movie was intense!

I’d toss in anything from Mad Max or Road Warrior, but no idea what the hell they were.

Alas, the green 1974 Vega I owned that I called the SNOT was not on that list.

I'd put either of these ahead of the F&F crap.

You realize that they put thin tires and various other handling mods on the Charger in that movie, so the stunt guys could hold it back against the Bullit Mustang? And even then they had problems running away from the Mustang :)
Back then, the Charger was the bomb-diggity :)

That was *A* car. Four wheels and a gawdawful lot of horses under the hood. And nothing else.
And the neat thing is that you could own it, for not a whole lot of money (unlike, say, Bond's Aston Martin, or Lotus). Still can, actually. And you can pretend that you're as cool as Steve McQueen while you're driving it.

The black Trans-Am from the Smokey & the Bandit movies is my favorite. Amazing how much abuse that car took and emerged without a scratch.....My other favorite that’s not on the list was from the old Dennis Weaver made-for-TV movie Duel. Weaver is driving an old Plymouth Duster or Dodge Dart (I think). They showed may shots of the instrument cluster (with Weaver booting the Slant-6 to try to avoid the trucker that was trying to kill him), it was the same as a Dodge Dart that I had.
