Sunken Civ, thanks for posting this about Stonehenge. I love these articles.

Remember when they found the stone carving of a hedgehog at Stonehenge? Buried with the child? I think this is a fascinating discovery, because it shows these ancient people obviously had a spiritual belief of sorts.

Wonder what their beliefs were?

These could have been offerings (and durable offerings mimicking live animals appear in historic and prehistoric contexts elsewhere as well), and they could have been favorite toys of the deceased. Such items were probably commonplace since the first time some mom or dad figured out how to make things, and those not made of durable material (such as stone, bone, or teeth) haven’t survived in the ground. :’)
