8/21/60 8/21/60 "The Twisted Twin Matter" Matter #702 Bob Bailey, G. Stanley Jones (George Reed), Frank Gerstle (Charlie the doorman), James McCallion (Randolph "Randy" Franklin), Jack Moyles (Carlo Frazetti), Herb Ellis (Lt. Kim Waverly), Russell Thorson (Dr. Parsons) ; Writer/Producer/Director - Jack Johnstone ; Announcer - John Wald ; Originates in Hollywood ; Expense Account Total = $196.55 ; George Reed, Floyd's of England, North American office, Hartford, calls Johnny concerning the estate of the recently deceased World war I fighter pilot Franklin P. "Frankie the Flying Fool" Franklin. He left $110,000 insurance to be divided between his twin surviving sons, Randolph and Phillip. Randy is a salesman for a New York machine tool manufacturer. Phillip, the stupid one, is a henchman for Chicago mobster Carlo Frazetti. Randy claims that Philip died about a year ago but no proof has been offered. Charlie, the doorman at Randy's apartment, directs Johnny to apartment #4-A. Randy is terribly nervous. He claims that he and Phillip crashed with a plane into the Allegheny Mountains. Randy said that everyone crawled away in different directions, and that he was passed out for a few days. He claims he has had black-outs ever since. Johnny checks out Randy's employer who says that Randy has not been the same good, reliable employee since the accident, and has had long unexplained absences. Dollar then goes to Chicago to see Carlo Frazetti. There he meets Phillip. Carlo says that Phillip has not been the same since the plane crack-up, and has had long unexplained absences. Back in Hartford, Randy is not to be found for a while. When he does show up Johnny has his prints checked against "Phillip's" by police lab technician Lt. Kim Waverly and they are identical. Johnny fires several rounds from a gun and the shock causes Randy to pass out. Dr. Parsons , a psychiatrist, checks Randy and says that he snapped from a guilt complex because he felt responsible for his brother's death and therefore sometimes assumed Phil's identity during his black-outs. The doctor expects Randy to completely recover. Promo: Suspense next, hijackers stage an armored truck hold-up. (AFRS)(21:52)

9/1/49 "Auto Burglaries/Myra the Redhead" Program #13 Jack Webb (Joe Friday), Barton Yarborough (Ben Romero), Raymond Burr (Ed Backstrand), ; Writers - James E. "Jim" Moser ; Technical Advice - W.A. Warden, acting head of the L.A. Police Department ; NBC ; Assigned to auto theft detail, Friday and Romero are out to get the ring leader of a gang. A couple of kids have been picked up. Stanley Freeman, age 20, and his 19 year old girl friend, Joanne Miller, were caught breaking into a locked car to steal a radio. He claims to be from Butte, Montana, but when Friday threatens to publish his picture in the paper he admits that he lives at 821 Piper, Los Angeles. Joanne volunteers that Fred Milford and George Jansen are two other members of the gang, and that Stanley is one of the leaders. There are a dozen members altogether. Stanley says that Milford is the real head of the gang and Joanne is Milford's girl. Milford and Jansen are picked up. Milford admits doing only 55 of the 250 car burglaries. Milford says that Vince Mahoney runs another gang in a different area of the city. Milford makes his payoff to a woman named Myra. She is good looking, red-headed, about age 33-34, 5'5", 120 pounds. The other gangs are located in Venice, Belleaire and North Hollywood. Milford and Mahoney agree to entrap Myra at the corner of Chavez Valley and East Main for a stake-out by Friday and Romero. Young Matthew Lighter shows up instead of Myra, and he is apprehended by Friday. That night there are 32 auto burglaries in Los Angeles. Lighter finally cracks Lighter who says that Myra can be found at the Francisco Motors, a used car place on Melrose. They talk to Mr. Paul Hackett. They threaten to take him to jail when he finally admits that Myra lives at 1345 Munich Drive, Beverly Hills, and that she is his wife. They go to Hackett's residence and wait for Myra. 1/24/53 "The Old Lady" Program #40 William Conrad (Matt Dillon), Parley Baer (Chester Proudfoot), Jeanette Nolan (Ellen Henry), Sam Edwards (Luthor Henry), John Dehner (Cas Stetter), Harry Bartell (Mr. Cairns), Herb Vigran (Mitch, the bartender) ; Director - Norman Macdonnell ; Writer - Kathleen Hite; Music Composer/Conductor - Rex Koury ; Matt and Chester are riding by Ellen Henry's place. She is the widow of Ethan, and the mother of Luthor. Shots ring out from Ellen, who tells them to get off of her land. Ellen is aged beyond her years. At the bar they run into Luthor. Matt suggests that Luthor help his mother. Luthor says she is crazy and wants nothing to do with her - and then he walks away. Next, Matt talks to Cas Stetter, one of Mr. Cairns' hands, says that Mr. Cairns has had some 5-6 cattle stolen each of the previous two nights. Mr. Cairns confirms the losses from his herd of 100 at most. Luthor is the prime suspect to them. Matt talks with Ellen about Luthor. Later, Ellen comes into town with the body of Luthor who has been shot to death. Matt goes after Ellen. She is going home - but to Cas Stetter's place. He finds out that Luthor and Ellen have been stealing Cairns' cattle and selling through Cas. Also, Ellen killed Luthor. (Sus.) (CBS) (29:42)

He had been a member of the International Commission on Chinese Art Treasures. It is suggested that he was a Japanese collaborator during WWII by translating captured American documents for the Japanese. A woman named Etwal claims that she married David in December of 1941. Hmmmm. WAMU put the 10/2/11 schedule up quite a few days back. I do believe they have revised the ten o’clock offering from their original posting. I remember it threw me that they called the show “NBC Theater” rather than “NBC University Theater”.

Life is good at the Mason Dixon line. The deck is being stained so no serious bbq this weekend. Just found a local farm which sells awesome beef and did grill some burgers and smoke some cheese though.
