There’s a product called Snake-Away. It’s essentially the same as ground-up mothballs, and irritates snakes’ noses (or whatever snakes’ olfactory organs are.)

Plain garden sulfur powder works to keep snakes out as well.
Couple of bucks for a few pounds.
