I think house shoes and bedroom slippers are essentially the same thing. It depends on what’s said in your neck of the woods. Kind of like soda or pop.

I don’t know that I’ve ever heard of “house” shoes. I suppose that slippers may not be necessary in warm climates. In the summer, I don’t wear slippers.

I think it is more of a monetary difference than a geographical difference. I have traveled to every state in this Union and I have heard the difference from soda, pop, "Coke," etc... But I have never heard anyone switching between house shoes and bedroom slippers.
The likes of Hugh Hefner, Bill Gates, Barrack Obama, Warren Buffet have "bedroom slippers."
Normal people have "house shoes."
