On to a battle royale between Simon and the other male judge.
To me all planned to differentiate this show from AI from day 1
Will be interested in tomorrow’s twists and turns to see where Simon is taking all of this.

Yeah. I’m writing a review on this tomorrow and so far I consider it American Idol with benefits.
But it’s okay and later there’s promised a mentoring process. Don’t know if you all watched the show The Voice (I am a competetive reality TV columnist) and that had a mentoring process that was kind of cool.
But let’s not kid ourselves, it’s formulaic. The auditions at a locale. They like to build up bad singers then have us booing them off. And there’s some maudlin like this single mother and hey, you gotta have drama.
and yeah, the “feud” between Simon and L.A. is scripted. Hey, it’s the sort of stuff that brings in viewers.
Way I see it, it’s how good they are at the scripting that is the real talent.
Kind of like wrestling as I like to compare.

A 42 year old single-mom named Stacy. She always wanted to pursue a singing career but was told by her abusive boyfriend/baby-daddy/husband that she was too old. "And I believed it."
She sings "Natural Woman" and blows the roof off the place.
She gets the first X Factor standing O from the judges.
LA: You are so gifted. You've got what it takes.

Simon: I've done this a long, long time. That was one of the best auditions I've ever heard. Loved it. Love you.
As you can imagine Stacy is a crying mess, lol. Mascara running down her face. But this is great. There was nothing pretentious about her at all. She gets a unanimous yes and it's like the weight of the world is lifted off her shoulders.
