Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone, with Peter Strauss and Molly Ringwald.

And the 3D was pretty bad in the theater I saw it at in 1983.

But still, I have yet to see anyone mention that beloved by FReepers classic, The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra!

Oh, you've got to see that one. I laughed all the way though it. :-D

Martians remind me of the current White House occupant. Wonder if his head would explode if we played Patsy Kline.

I remember this one:

Ranger Brad: "We take our horrible mutilations seriously up in these parts."

And, at dinner:

Kro-Bar: "Aliens? Us? Is this one of your Earth jokes?"

And, a bit of scintillating dialogue shortly after Dr. Fleming steals the Atmospherium and immobilizes Kro-Bar and Lattis:

Dr. Roger Fleming: "Not moving very fast now, are you my interplanetary friends?"
Kro-Bar: "So this is your idea of sharing."
Lattis: "It's not like Marvan sharing at all. This must be Earth sharing."
Dr. Roger Fleming: "You'll find much of Earth sharing works this way. It's really more like I'm sharing with myself."
Kro-Bar: "If I could only reach you, we'd share... pain."

Genius stuff.

LITTLE KNOWN FACTS Due to poor lighting, parts of the film were made by under-cranking the camera and having the actors move more slowly, sometimes shooting at 18 or 12 frames per second instead of the usual 24.

Tommy Kirk had previously played a Martian seeking Earthwomen in AIP's Pajama Party (1964), which is funny seeing that Kirk was a homosexual.

Actually, we did call it “The Craw.”

These movies were often Friday night spooky movies that came on just before sign-off, the “Star Spangled Banner” and the test pattern. Big popcorn nights. Soda pop was a treat, sometimes accompanied by a mad dash to the A&W stand and get a draft quart of root beer.

Remember that? TV stations signed off for the night, with the presentation of colors and flourishes?

I even remember some of the words that started off the movie show.....”Out of the swirling mists of the unknown....” We used to recite that thing along with the announcer. It was cool. I don’t remember the whole thing now, but it was ‘eekish’ in kidspeak.

That’s classic! And do I remember Spock singing, or is that a separate movie?
