F&F this morning: Perry meet with Trump, common ground on unbalanced trade? (hugh, series)
(vanity)

Posted on 09/18/2011 9:43:23 AM PDT by Cringing Negativism Network

Was half-watching Fox and Friends this morning, when the topic turned to Donald Trump.

At first I was worried they might say, he's decided to run. That could be bad.

That wasn't what they said, to my relief, but what really surprized (and rather enthused) this poster came next...

Nyuk, nyuk.

I’ve already stated on this board, I will donate $25 each to Palin and to Free Republic, the day Palin announces.

(step 2)

In the interest of full disclosure, My motivation in posting this thread, is to attempt to begin a bit of competition between Perry and Palin, to out-Patriot each other.

I’d be happy if either of them, were to embrace a blatantly America first platform. Even a someone more measured change of course (I recognize I’m a bit extreme) would be hugely helpful for America.

Perry seems like a good guy so far. Palin is and has been my preference since (before) McCain selected her for his running mate.

I’ll vote for either of them, if they stand firm for the USA.

In fact, they’d make a very strong team.

I’m not in the least bit concerned about a politician holding one office and running for another. If his or her own constituents don’t mind, I certainly don’t. It’s just a non issue for me and I think the vast majority of voters.

As to citizen versus career politicians, what matters is who the people will vote for. Everyone says they want a regular guy/gal candidate just like them, but people rarely vote that way. Very sadly, it’s just not enough to be right on the issues, a candidate pretty much has to be a skilled, reasonably charismatic, politician to get anywhere. The more skilled they are at speaking, connecting with voters, understanding how to deal with the media, projecting an image, etc, the more likely they are to get elected. There is how we wish it was, and then there is the way it really is - and no amount of complaining about the factors voters actually weigh when judging candidates is going to change that.

Perry met with Trump last week.

Palin met with Trump months ago.

Romney is meeting with Trump later this month.

Mine do also and it really shouldn’t be controversial. Until the people of Texas decide to change the rules so that an elected official must resign to run for a different office then there’s not much to be controversial about. Until they make the change it matters not a whit as it’s between the governor and his constituents.

Actually now that Perry is running for President he is asking all voters for their vote.

It's certainly reasonable for voter to want a presidential candidate who is willing to devote their full time efforts to the campaign.

It's certainly reasonable for a voter to want a presidential candidate who has a track record of performing their job full time as they collect their full time salary.

You don't care a whit about that?

You take care now and have a blessed day.

You too.

“Also, you linked a WND article. I'm sorry, but your foolish if you trust anything WND, Corsi or Farah have to say about birther stuff. They constantly post exaggerated, hyped stories that never pan out.”

Obama let LTC Lakin go to the brig rather than reveal any image of his LFBC, yet on the very day that Corsi’s book, “Where's the Birth Certificate?” hit #1 on Amazon pre-order, Obama allegedly arranged to dispatch his personal attorney physically to HI to obtain a “copy” of the LFBC...at the exact same time that Trump rose to the top of the GOP polls for 2012.

But yet you say “Birther conspiracies will not be an issue in the 2012 campaign.” They already have, and Corsi was behind it all with other dedicated constitutionalists!

I say it, and I am right. Birther conspiracies will not, under any circumstances, be an issue in the 2012 election. Every candidate we have will run from that stuff as fast as they can.

Yes, the Obama administration viewed it as a distraction that conspiracy theorists would run wild with. They released the long form thus shutting down all but the most hard core birthers. Corsi's book did great in pre-order's before the long form was released - once Hussein put it out there Corsi's book died on the vine.

Trump never touched this issue again once the long form was released. He completely clammed up. Whatever happened to his investigators that "couldn't believe what they were finding". I don't hear Trump the clown talking about the birth certificate any more. What happened? Is he in on the conspiracy now? Or was he in on it all along?

This is a dumb issue that will have no impact on anything. As I've said, the next time anyone might care what birthers think is to watch their heads explode if Marco Rubio becomes the GOP nominee's running mate.

Trump was offered over $100M to drop out of the 2012 GOP campaign and make another season of Apprentice for NBC which is 49% owned by GE and run by Obama crony and green-graft beneficiary Immelt. On the day the pdf was released Trump said it should be forensically examined and not just accepted at face value.

That is exactly what Corsi has done and Corsi has now presented his evidence to Arpaio who has appointed a posse to assess it.

Corsi has flat-out accused Trump of being an agent of Obama acting to set up the big “reveal” of the BC, but I don't believe it. As Trump knows, “timing is everything.”

Trump is the only one, only politician or person, I've seen say the right thing: that China and OPec are destroying the U.S..

Face it all of you the Donald is right and we do need to start making things in the U.S.A again , re-industrialize the country put up severe trade barriers against China, etc.

If they want to sell to the U.S.A market then let them build factories here so we can have jobs again in America.
