Who wrote this, a third grader?

More than one Squires = Squireses? Come on, please, the writer of the article did this twice.

More evidence of schools going to crap.

Of course we know that.

I thought it was correct.

Squires (singular)
Squireses (plural)

Jones (singular)
Joneses (plural)
as in “Keeping up with the Joneses”
NOT “Keeping up with the Jones’” (I’ve actually seen it written like that).

What's wrong with it?

Have you ever heard of the expression "keeping up with the Joneses"? Or, in your household was "keeping up with the Jones" the accepted form?
