I was in Rudescheim a couple of years ago. Drank some Ansbach and brought some home to drink (all gone now). We also took the ferry across the Rhine (fastest-moving river I’ve ever seen) at Rudescheim to view the giant Germania statue commemorating the Franco Prussian war.

Love Germany. Can’t wait to try your recipe.

you will love it. closest the real thing since last I crossed the Rhine from Bingen to Rudesheim.

correction: (left out TO) you will love it. closest TO the real thing since last I crossed the Rhine from Bingen to Rudesheim.

BTW, any good brandy will do, but Asbach does have a nice flavor and a good bite.
