I believe that male children need male names and female children need female names.
At one time or another, most of the virtues have been used as given names (AFAIK, only female names).
From Wikipedia (sorry -- it was the best I could find quickly):
In Catholic catechism, the seven virtues refer to one of two lists of virtues, most commonly referring to the 4 cardinal virtues of prudence, justice, restraint or temperance, and courage or fortitude, and the 3 theological virtues of faith, hope, and love or charity; these were adopted by the Church Fathers. An alternative list, the seven heavenly virtues, is opposed to the seven deadly sins, and consists of chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility.
Of the first list (prudence, justice, restraint/temperance, courage/fortitude, faith, hope, and love/charity), I am familiar with Prudence, Justice, Temperance, Faith, Hope, and Charity used as female names. [But not courage/fortitude.]
Of the second list (chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility), I'm familiar with Chastity, Temperance, Charity, Patience, and perhaps Humility used as female names. [But not diligence or kindness.]
Those who've read more history or have done genealogical research on English/American ancestors from the 17th-19th centuries may be familiar with some of the ones I think haven't been used. Or perhaps male names from the virtues (courage seems likely).]
