Just because the Romans — particularly Hadrian, hero of modern San Francisco — didn’t like the practice of circumcision? Or because the Romans leveled Jerusalem and renamed it after Jupiter? And carried out mass executions, uprooted whole villages, and forcibly relocated thousands? Sorehead.

“The Jewish Wars” are generally referred to as “The Roman Wars” by Jewish historians.

Josephus was a controversial figure. While a Jewish soldier he was trapped with companions in a cave after his army lost a siege. His companions wanted to commit suicide rather than surrender. They drew lots as to who would kill whom. Somehow at the end of this process Josephus was still alive and he surrendered.
He ended up under the patronage of the Flavians.
Even though he wrote books, he never satisfactorily explained how these things happened.
