Not sure anyone remembers or posted this song yet but

She wore an itsy bitsy teenie weenie, yellow polka dot bikini...

I use to sing that song as a little girl.

You can always sing the Barney Song to the Imperial March from Star Wars.

I have one of their post-USSR albums. By that time, I think they were named the “Red Star Red Army Chorus.”

“I admit I like the Carpenters! So there! Also “Love Is Blue” brings right back to 6th grade and hand held AM radios.”

Love is Blue came out the week before I went to Boot Camp at Parris Island.

We were going through Dental and I was tasked with handing out the cotton wads to stuff in your cheeks. I got to stand there, listening to the radio the dental corpsmen were playing, while my whole platoon went through dental exams.

One song played was “Love is Blue” and it reminded me that there was still Life and Goodness and Love in the world, in spite of the constant fear that my DIs could not only kill me and get away with it, but also erase any evidence that I had EVER existed!

Every time I hear “Love is Blue”, I remember that dental exam.

Hi BN - She’s still a hottie, still a great singer, and still married to her her HS sweetheart.

She was @ the Washington County fair in Richmond, RI with her band and sister Peggy Sue.

She said big sister Loretta Lynn was going in for knee replacement surgery tomorrow (or Tuesday) and wanted everyone to keep her in their prayers.

“The Rose...Bette Midler. There. I said it”.

In the studio Ghibli anime film “Only Yesterday”, the closing theme is the Japanese translation of “The Rose”, titled “Ai wa Hana, Kimi wa sono Tane”.

Impossible to watch the closing scene without blubbering...or so I’m told.

That brings back a memory of songs I wouldn't admit to in public.

The Russian (or at the time Soviet) national anthem. I heard it "The Hunt for Red October" and was humming it at work the next day. Normally not a problem but it could have been a big deal if my security officer had heard it and recognized it. It is just a beautiful song.

Let me add that I am NOT ashamed to admit I am a Noonatic, a fan of Peter Noone and Herman’s Hermits, so there are a lot on this iPhone/iPod.

Yes, I like her too. I tear up when I hear her singing Amazing Grace. Hers is by far the best version of this song. Judy Collins, Amazing Grace.

My husband loves the song, “Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road” by Loudan Wainwright III. But he’s not ashamed to admit it, but I am ashamed to admit that my husband loves that song. He even bought it on ITunes.
