Linux vs Windows is apples and oranges.
Windows has all the hardware support from the manufacturers and massive monopoly position that it can use to keep out opposition,whereas Linux is for more freedom-orientated individuals who want to customize their stuff.

Many people believe computers are tools. They don’t care how it works, they don’t want to modify the kernal, drivers, system files or anything else. They just want to use it. Ya know what, thats ok.
