Actually, back in those days, everyone in Texas was a dim. You couldn't get elected to pooper scooper with an (R) behind your name. Read up on the Texas Reagan Revolution. Back then Texas was considered a swing state. Name one statewide official in Texas with a (d) behind his or her name. You can't, because there isn't one.

That is not correct. There were millions of main line Goldwater and Reagan republicans in Texas when Mr. college cheer leader was supporting the most liberal SOB on the face of American politics!!!
