I didn’t either. The point the other poster and I was making was that the parks don’t allow you to carry firearms to defend yourself. We should be allowed to go into the wild and should be able to defend ourselves. If the guy had had a gun, it may have been possible to scare the bear away without him getting the pack with the food inside.

Long shot though. A bear that is already approaching is already up to no good.

Now, you can carry if you have a concealed carry permit. If the state you are in allows open carry, you can open carry.

The above was put through thanks to the efforts and long years of hard work by the 2nd Amendment groups, and President Bush signed that law into effect as he said he would.

Those people could, and should, have been armed.

Mebbe you should review the latest rules for weapons in National Parks, eh? Look it up yourself and you’ll remember it better!

Both Wyoming and Montana allow open carry, so visitors to Yellowstone can carry openly in the park. The Armed & Rangerous will tell you otherwise, but they are lyin’, something they are good at.

Note that buildings such as park offices and such may be poasted as gun free - after all, the bears have to have a chance to eat as you walk to and from the restaurant!
