By the way, not that anyone here will care: the Amazing Spiderman never died and is not being replaced.

The Ultimate Spiderman, which was a comic reboot, which didn't catch on much, was the one who died. It's an entirely separate comic-book universe.

Like "Never Say Never Again" with Connery as Bond, when Roger Moore was the "real" Bond.

Why don't they just begin with the premise that multiverse theory is correct.

Then they can have a different Spiderman ... er ... person for each universe.

They could have lesbian Spiderwomen (lipstick and dyke), Chinese, Russian, Venezuelan, differently abled, senior citizen, etc.

Why just stick with two? Doesn't anyone have an imagination anymore?
