Guys, I am asking you to do me a favor that will take less than five minutes of your time. My wonderful, but very small town called Bullhead City has made it to the finals of the Bark for Your Park contest sponsored by Petsafe. A contest that started with 500 cities, whittled down to 15 finalists based on a two minute video. The winner receives $100,000 to use for a dog park.
Now, it's all an internet vote based competition like American Idol. For almost three weeks we've been voting, and we were number 3 coming into the last week. I know, if FREEPERS vote, we will win. There's not a doubt in my mind, but I have asked before and I don't believe people have responded. And that makes me sad because over the years I have done things like this for other people, and was happy to help.
I am begging now. If we win, and we will know on Friday, I will donate $500 of my own money to Free Republic, that's how much I believe your votes will help us. We are a pretty poor town,and I would never allow tax monies to be spend on this...so we have been trying to raise money for a dog park for over a year. This contest was a Godsend. We've worked hard.
Please go to the website BARK FOR YOU PARK and register...they only ask for your name and email address..that's all..don't even have to use your real name. Go to the Bullhead City Video, click on that and vote. That vote will give you a link to their FACEBOOK page, and you can vote there. So that's two votes a day. The contest ends on Wednesday....PLEASE...
Come back here and let me know..wouldn't it be great if hundreds and hundreds rallied around for something really good? I think we can use some good news...I thank you all in advance for your help.

I’m actually almost crying now. I am sincerely grateful and touched that you guys are doing this for my City. I am confident we will win now. I just now if Freepers step up, we will win.

I noticed the vignette of scorpions, snakes, etc. Things that a dog presumably wouldn’t want to come across. How is the park to be kept free of such pet hazards? Do they shun grassy areas?
