Don’t forget to fill up your gas tank, get cash, and pick up a nice supply of hurricane chocolate.

Looks like I will have my boat pulled Thursday morning. Francis and Jean, made a believer in me. Then hanging the hurricane shutters and clearing off the pool deck.

and pick up a nice supply of hurricane chocolate. That is on a par in importance of the ever necessary supply of hurricane beer!

“Then send it over to Texas. Well take it off your hands(wish)!”
As long as it comes ashore at Galveston and heads north thru Houston and Dallas and into central Oklahoma.

I understand. My mother lives in Stuart. She evacuated over here for Frances. Fortunately, she was on an Alaskan cruise during Jeanne. I was reduced to tears when I drove over there after each of those storms. Handed out all of my hurricane supplies to her neighbors. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Why would anybody want to leave NB?...I love it there. I have friends who grew up there and have moved home...it was really nice in the old days before the “new” people moved in.

NB is still a great town and I love it. My wife and I always said if we left it we’d leave it for salt water. Well, here we are, surrounded by salt water. I was 5 miles offshore the other day in 70’ of water and could see the bottom. I took my 8 and 11 year old daughters snorkeling on the reef and they were amazed. NB is great but this place is amazing. That said, if you ask me where I’m from today, I say Texas but we now live in Florida. I’ll forevermore and always be....A Texan!

If you want to know what Key Largo is like during a hurricane see the great Bogart movie of the same name. A tip — do not associate with gangsters on the lam.

That photo was of a carp. I realize in retrospect it looks strange.
