To this day, I still think “Billion Dollar Babies” is one of the coolest songs ever recorded (and Generation Landslide, too, for some reason)
I remember getting into Alice back in 1974-1975 (something like that—I remember the School’s Out Album cover with the school desk flip top and the lady’s panty covering the disc—I thought, “What the...!) He appeared on Don Kirschner’s In Concert. They showed some live concert footage (School’s Out, Gutter Cat vs. the Jets) and then showed what must have been one of the earliest rock videos of all time. It was the song, Elected, with Alice all decked out in a white satin tux, cane in hand and a monkey for a campaign manager (kind of reminds me of McCain’s run, now that I think of it.)
Alice was always cutting edge.
Well I laugh to myself
At the men and the ladies
Who *never* conceived of us billion dollar babies
[da da da da da!]
One of his best “little known tunes”, ever.
“Malatov milk bottles”...LOL
Have you ever seen the video for that?
It was made during his “Special Forces” era where he looked like a cross between Kate Hepburn and Baby Jane.
Check it out...:)

In ‘74, he freaked out the world with the prime time premier of “Alice Cooper: The Nightmare” with Vincent Price.
It was the whole stage show as a “movie”.
I was 13 and stared at the TV is rapt amazement.
My life was never the same again.

He’s re-released a “School’s Out” box set with an actual 3D desktop filled with scraps of paper, notes and unreleased photos.
If anybody wants to buy that for me, it’s only $249 + shipping.
;D
