I put one together around 20 years ago, more out of curiosity/fun than thinking I would really need it.
I need to get it out and check it over just to see what is there. I don’t think there is anything perishable except maybe some water purification tablets and they probably last a long time.
A few things I know are in there are: 500 rounds of .22LR., a bunch of fire starting devices, a lot of cord and rolls of wire. Gerber and Leatherman tools, knives, sharpening stone, and a hatchet. Bandage, athletic tape, and band aids.
I might get it out right now and check.
Well I just checked my bag and was surprised by a few things. A really large number of candles and a candle lantern,
A bag of latex gloves. I have no idea why I packed them. Even more matches fire starters etc than I thought. Plastic eating utensils still in their plastic. Compass. Boy Scout handbook. Writing pens, several packs of small nails. Sewing kit. brush (again I don’t know why), more needles, more sewing thread, even more compasses. Scotch tape?
150 yards of 80lbs test fishing line. hooks. fairly large mirror. Referee’s whistle. Small mirror. Swiss Army knives, whetstones plus other sharpeners. Several rolls of coated wire.
A lot of other odds and ends which are buried in bag. There are a lot of little packs of toilet paper from MREs which I would remove but they are so light I will just leave them.
It is all in a large gym bag. I would guess half the area is taken up with various fire starters and candles.
I didn’t have a .22 LR pistol as I always have it at hand and would just naturally grab it.
I might put together another one. Take out some of the candles and replace it with first aid and other medications.
Also swap out a few other things such as the brush. Also noticed there was a steel eating utensil set so will take out the plastic ones.
Just noticed a small notebook and two space blankets in original packing. Also could not find the Gerber and Leatherman tools so will put some in. Also replace the scotch tape with duct tape.
