UT's tuition is the highest in the state for public universities. It's right below private school tuition. Then every week parents of UT students get calls to donate if for nothing else beause it's Thurday. Two years ago UT president whined about the Top 10% ruling (top 10% of TX high school graduates get automatic acceptance to a TX public university). Hey, it was UT's fault that Texas has it since it resulted from a suit filed against UT descriminating against white law students in favor of "diversity"! Anyway, UT was all up in arms and wanting it struck down and the legislature spent days and $$$$ on revamping it all because.... drum roll, please.... ready?... are you sure?... because continuing the ruling would cause UT to have to cancel it's football team!!!!! O - M - G, can you believe?!? Yes, the UT president actually told reporters that and he wasn't fired. AND the Texas Legislature changed the ruling so that UT now only has to admit the Top 8% whereas all the other TX public universities still have to follow the original Top 10%.
That’s right.
It’s the University of Texas and it can do what ever it wants.
