This would be consistent with Cro-Mags killing off the Neandertal males and taking the females.

Is it a known absence or just one that wasn't looked for or no results, either positive or negative, were found. Also looking at the muscular structure of Neanderthals, it might be mating of Neanderthal females to Cro-Magnon males (Oooga likes that you have two eyebrows. You just hold still little man...)
