Just like anywhere else, a few well-placed units of hot lead into the lead attacker will deter the rest of the pack from joining in. They’ll tuck their hairy tails and run screeching for shelter.
Then they'll howl "gun nut!" and many people will believe them. Not as many as before, fortunately, but still many.
