A jury should be in a court room as soon as the gavel goes down and should leave only when court is in recess or adjourned for the day. Juries should be there during sidebars etc.
Our courts are in a shambles and a relic of what the founders gave us and intended. They are corrupt and laden with political agenda as well.
Just from my personal experiences as a witness in an abuse case I saw enough to make me sick and I was not in a jury trial. Deals are cut, witnesses many times put on trial, and perps made to look as victims. I do not think I would make a good juror as I have lost all faith in the justice system.
Ya gotta prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt to convict....the prosecutor obviously failed to do so. I think she probably did kill the child, but they have to be able to prove it.
I can tell just by *looking* at Casey Anthony she’s guilty. What the hell was wrong with that Orlando jury? What the hell is wrong with Orlando? Too much Mickey Mouse, I suppose, or something in the swamp water down there. They need to listen to Nancy Grace a little more.
Greta is interviewing an alternate juror right now...very enlightening—and disturbing. He agrees wholeheartedly with the verdict; Caylee died in some sort of “horrible accident” (despite the lack of evidence).
As for those three pieces of duct tape found on the child’s skull, the jury apparently bought Jose Baez’s story that it was similar to how the family buried their pets (Hmmm...don’t recall testimony that George Anthony put tape over the mouths of their deceased dogs).
And here’s the clincher: the alternate said he didn’t see Casey’s non-stop partying lifestyle (while Caylee was missing) as suspicious behavior, or an indication that she had murdered her daughter.
It’s painfully clear this jury was in over its head from Day One.
Your unwillingness to declare community with a jury that delivered a verdict based entirely on the facts presented (or not presented) is laughable. I would proudly declare them to be my neighbors, as they exemplify what works with our judicial system.
Now, go back and watch Nancy Grace - she needs the viewers.
Appears to me, and others who believe that Prosecutors have to PROVE the defendants are guilty, that those Pinella Co. jurors gave the correct verdict on every charge.
The Defense, in closing statements, ripped apart every fantasy that had been put forth by the Prosecutors, who NEVER presented any direct evidence that linked Casey to her daughter’s death.
Our judicial system worked this time. It’s not supposed to be driven by emotions and media bias, but on factual data.
Prosecution sucked. You have to make the argument and not insult the jury. Zero out of two is not a passing score.
