Thank you for pointing out that the populace is not required to consider her innocent, only the jurors. Drives me insane when people try to say that.

AMEN! I know I’ve brought up the OJ trial quite a bit in these threads but I was as obsessed with that as I have been with the Anthony case. I actually had guys at work tell me they weren’t ALLOWED to prejudge him - innocent until proven guilty, you know.
I told them over and over, it didn’t apply to us - we weren’t in a courtroom on a jury! My boss came to my desk (where I had my radio) AFTER the verdict and said he’d been rooting for OJ all along! I wanted to toss him off the balcony. Said he’d even sent him cards in jail. He was a buddy of Ron Phillips, the detective with Mark Fuhrman on the murder scene but I’ll bet he never told Phillips that.
One of the other employees came to me and said, “I can tell you now - I always did think he was guilty but I wasn’t allowed to say so.”
Jerks! Why must we be surrounded by jerks? Can we put a bounty on them?
Nothing makes me madder than that assumption that WE must regard her as innocent before the jury decides.
But it’s another one of those ideas that work their way into the culture- a legend with no basis in fact.
