Those whining that he has shut down the defense need to go back and read - the defense has tried everything they could to stop this trial, even asking three or four times for a mistrial. AND, objections are often just made to get on the record so they can be reviewed for any upcoming review. So I don't think the Defense always thought they would get an objection sustained, just wanted to make note of it on the record.
So overall - I think he has done a great job. One of the things he has done that I appreciate it tell them not to yell - he can hear just fine. My household is not a name calling yelling place so I don't like it in a work place either.
Agree with you about the defense; but the prosecution has done the same. Smack down of prosecutor yesterday.
Have you seen any speculation as to who the jury foreman might be? Some jury observers say they can often predict the choice in advance..by demeanor, body language, and the way the other jurors sort of defer to this person when they enter and exit the courtroom..
