Good Morning to all. Closing Arguments are today.
I apologize in advance if you were either left off today's ping list or included in error. I am not at home and forgot to forward my pinglist to my friend's house, so I've had to check some older threads and reconstruct as many names as possible. If I missed you I'm sorry.
I probably won't be able to post much on this thread, but after I am home I will keep my ear to the television/radio for the jury decision, and will ping again when I hear so we can have a discussion thread.
Let me know if you want on or off the ping list.
George did it. Obviously.
please.......the evidence of an accident is lacking.....murder....that is proven. Duct tape over the mouth and nose will ensure death. Drug her, then stop her breathing? And I was being nice figuring she drugged her to party and then it resulted in her death, but it looks pretty bad. She showed NO regret after the fact. She partied hard. Wow. What a tragedy she suffered. The kidnapping or accidental death left her partying? This young mother is guilty. Why you persist in advancing her silly stories is beyond me. Murderers come in all shapes and sizes......even a young woman.
Choloroform can’ be proven as cause of death, either. Since that can’t be proven I couldn’t sentence her to die.
Also, if someone is so smart to to plan the babies’ death, why didn’t she think of a way to get rid of the remains?
Very powerful closing by Ashton where he lays it out from beginning to the end.
The defense can only Try to create some doubt.
What you said. Nobody acts like Casey if their child is missing.
That may correct - he touched his daughter, etc - an abusive father, killed his grandaughter ...
she suffers from Stockholm syndrom...
Who knows?
Reasonable doubt.
Obvious not the meter-reader. Time frames don’t fit.
Certainly not the grandmother, her phone call to the police once she knew Caley was missing was compelling, not to mention her lying to protect, now, Casey from the death penality. The grandmother was a loving grandmother, which by the way Casey was jealous of and spoke of this to her friends.
The mother, Casey, was abusive to her child..and not uncommon that deaths occur for that. I have no doubts...reasonable or otherwise.
But we shall all see. IMO Casey will never own up to any part of what she is or has done...not in her twisted nature.
Since the defense has conceded that Casey new her daughter died on June 16th, it isn’t feasible that anyone else put the duct tape on the child.
Do grandfathers go out and have affairs when their granddaughter is missing?
He’s a man. LOL!
Well it maybe reversed because that always a risk. However, not because he set himself up as the Gatekeeper of the evidence. In Florida (anyway) that is his job, he decides relevance. You can't just ruin peoples lives because you want to cast doubt in a jury's mind, it must be germane. Jose Baez has been on the edge of contempt through this entire trial the Judge has given him lots of leeway.
Actually, I am convinced that she was in the habit of chloroforming her daughter of an evening, in order to go out and party.
Cheaper than a babysitter.
Then one day, she over did it - and the child died.
The duct tape is wierd - she chloroformed her daughter then taped her mouth, put a heart sticker on the tape, and stuck her in the trunk?
I don’t believe it.
And I think the entire family is lieing.
BUT - my point is, nothing is proven. I have doubts.
Therefore, case dismissed.
I think you may be right.
The prosecution has not proven murder 1st beyond a reasonable doubt.
At any rate, the public’s behaviour at this trial is atrocious. Fist fights to get a place in line..media coverage 24/7.
They smell blood and they want her dead.
I think Casey is guilty and should be punished, but not given the death penalty.
Keep her jailed until she’s an old woman.
If those are the facts, then the case won’t be dismissed, she will be found guilty on the lesser charges.
I have also heard of people turning to someone else in a time of grief for comfort. Casey didn't look a bit like she needed comforting. You have seen the pictures of her partying and her newly aquired "The beautiful life" tatoo...
Affairs are secretive and deceitful. Lying in court takes it a step further. It will make the jury wonder about all that guy’s testimony.
Oh I don’t believe it’s out of control at all.
I’m not certain he had an affair. Holloway did not come across as truthful to me at all.
Arguing over photographs.
