Good Morning to all. Closing Arguments are today.
I apologize in advance if you were either left off today's ping list or included in error. I am not at home and forgot to forward my pinglist to my friend's house, so I've had to check some older threads and reconstruct as many names as possible. If I missed you I'm sorry.
I probably won't be able to post much on this thread, but after I am home I will keep my ear to the television/radio for the jury decision, and will ping again when I hear so we can have a discussion thread.
Let me know if you want on or off the ping list.
The whole family is a bunch of liars.
The standard isn’t any doubt, it’s reasonable doubt. There is no reasonable doubt here. Three pieces of duct tape over the child’s face.
That would be a great injustice. I know you are the messenger.
Florida has a pretty strange death penalty “scheme” and I’m not sure if I agree with it - but the jury recommends and the judge decides.
Here’s the way it works:

You are absolutely correct, Tioga - the evidence is lacking.
Case dismissed.
I always think that if she gets convicted she’ll find a nice male guard to hang with or join the other team and find a large female inmate to snuggle with. In any case, she’ll be far away from her mother which I think, in the end, is what she really wants.
“Three pieces of duct tape over the childs face.”
Who put them there - the meter reader, the mother, or the grandmother?
I have reasonable doubt.
A loving mother would not place duct tape on her child, even if an accident she would remove it and try to resuscitate her..and certainly wouldn't put it back on.
And a loving mother does not chloroform a child she loves. That's abuse...and Casey was an abusive mother regardless of her reasoning's why she did that.
Those two issues alone are critical in this case...Casey's actions surrounding her daughter are clearly abusive..and that enough to cause her death.
I have doubt - about how many posts I have missed. Sheez, this is out of control. :)
Judge Kangaroo? From what I have seen, he's doing a bang up job. He is keeping his courtroom from turning into a circus, unlike the infamous OJ Simpson trial.
"After working as a prosecutor he promptly rose through the ranks of the judiciary but hit a roadblock in 1998 when he publicly acknowledged and apologized for an affair with a former deputy court administrator."
Not a Casey fan but before some make Yoda Perry such a hero..Just sayin'..
The bitch is guilty of killing her own child!
Probably due to the publicity. She needs institutionalization. Maybe an asylum would be better than prison. I had to quit watching Ashton. Boring. Reminded me of boring Sunday Sermons when I was a kid.
Also, with anyone else in that family, 911 would have been called if there had been an accident. Casey is the only one that wanted to get rid of her “problem”.
Maybe Judge Roy Bean would be better to describe this Travesty.
I’m not really seeing that. What I’m seeing is her casting truly evil glances at Baez. Oh, how I’d hate to be between Casey and a piece of duct tape!
Still I would like to see her at the least get life. Just how I see what's been given as evidence , including circumstantial evidence. They will consider her time served by the time this goes to appeal....and who knows what angles or evidence might be even more manipulation of the jury, then ,to create further doubt. I understand the state of Florida is footing the bill for Casey's attorney.
