They assumed a 23 percent increase in atmospheric greenhouse gases by 2040.

And we know what assuming brings...

For those of you in Rio Linde, "ASSUME" makes an "ASS" out of "U" and "ME"...:=)

I bought a boatload of wine (mostly CA) today.

Not because of global warming, but because MD’s alcohol tax goes from 6% to 9% tomorrow.

I'm sure there is a report that says crops of barley and hops will be severely diminished, then another that says less corn will be available for making other adult beverages, due to (ahem) global climate change..

That's really hitting below the belt. Could Victory Gin be far down the road?

Assume will make you pass gas too, eating all that rotting donkey meat, don’tchaknow. BTW, Chile is bottling some of the finest wines on the planet.

They assumed a 23 percent increase in atmospheric greenhouse gases by 2040.

They then further assumed, of course, that such an increase in atmospheric greenhouse gases would obviously result in 1.8 degree increase in temperatures. What a crock.

In business, assume means it there is a boat load of money involved (hidden cost) on your part.

Well, that could cause all sorts of things, or nothing at all, or California might get colder down in the valleys as immense glaciers started building at the top, then oozing down the slopes.

All it'd take is a few VERY WET WINTERS and COOL SUMMERS to do that.

It's happened before ~ at a minimum 20 times, and accounting for interstadials probably a multiple of that ~ let's say 100 times the ice has built up and then pushed its way down hill.

Darned!

That'd be something and it could bury those grapevines up to their furry little tendrils in mud during the recurring seasonal floods (noting that much of California has never been touched by glaciation in the current 7 million year long period of serious serious cooling ~ or the 2.5 million year long period of serious glaciation ~ just didn't hit the place EXCEPT on the mountains).

Considering that the next ICE AGE is Absolutely Guaranteed to Happen, I’ll Take Global Warming any day of the week, after all we have been experiencing Global Warming for thousands of years since the last ICE AGE. I might add that this planet experiences an Ice Age roughly every 15,000 years, and has for BILLIONS of YEARS. So what are they whining about???
