Just short of 60 and a lifelong bachelor. And very happy. The Brown-Worshams of my generation made it a point to tell me how little they needed me and I decided to take them up on it. Now they tell me I'm a freak for believing them.
No alimony. No child support for worthless slacker kids. No heartbreak. The home I always wanted, paid for, and this "slavery" that is housework, well, I do my own joyfully and very adequately, thanks. Yeah, I'm a freak all right.

All these posts are very entertaining to read. I haven’t seen one of these type threads on FR in awhile. Seems like you used to see them more often. I think alot of guys who have a tweener income (not poor but not enough money to attract the golddigger gals) might have a little more trouble in the dating environment. Personally I have virtually no clue where i’d go to meet anyone. I focus more on reading and trying to stay in decent health.

53 y.o. here, I feel the same way, I actually looked at the mother of a woman I was engaged to and was repulsed. I began to see her footprint on her daughter everytime a situation became stressful. Ultimately it broke us up, and then her girlfriends came out of the closet an completely ratted her out. She had No intention of moving to Alaska or of a real college degree. She was just milking the relationship since I was young making alot of money for that age (lots of overtime) and I was frequently gone for months at a time.
So yea I'm probably damaged in some peoples eyes, and I admit to this day few get around to lieing to me a third time, but I stand by integrity, honesty, honor and fidelity.
