This is true. The same applies to dogs, exotic animals, hell even house cats. An animal is just that. No more.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned hogs. They can be very
dangerous. When I was a kid there was an old farmer in this
area that pulled the feed wagon into the hog lot and got off
and closed the gate. He had a heart attack on the way back
to the tractor. Pavlovian conditioning; it was feeding time.
I heard that they didn't find much.

My FIL got bit last year by a filly and he is a big guy. It looked like his bicep would fall off. He has farmed all his life. The horse came over a fence at him because he was trying to train her not to paw the fence at feeding.

I am constantly amazed by how stupid and arrogant people are about animals. Me neighbor’s dog (GS) almost attacked my one year old because she was holding our cat. (he got the cat later but I don’t mind that) Anyway I told him the dog is dead next time I see it out. He actually got mad at me. What a friggin idiot. BTW he is a NY bleeding hear lib. But I haven’t seen his dog in two years. He knows I am a good hunter. I’d pop that thing and sleep with a song in my heart!
