This was the precursor to the Federal Reserve we have today. Jackson killed an early attempt to take over America's economy/wealth by banksters. For that alone, he deserves props.
Ordering martial law in New Orleans and conscripting the locals despite the president’s order to retreat from the city was just a tad over the line.
On the other hand I like the fact that he told the banks where to get off. As a military man it was clear that he cared about his soldiers.
