This breed is your religion - I am not trying to break your faith in it -

No, I a Catholic, and my faith in in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and our Father on High.

I see you still haven't found the pitbull in that little linky I sent you. How can you claim knowledge and quote stats (all from the same pet-hate site) about a breed you can't even recognize?

FYI, I own a peke-pom cross (11 yrs), a smooth collie (7 yrs, though he's headed for the rainbow bridge soon. Lymphoma.), and a cat(15 yrs). My GF owns a gaggle (7 at last count) of little "kick-a-poos", and I foster teacup chihuahuas and other displaced critters. No pit bulls in either household.

That said, I have had troubled dogs here, and they seem to settle in after a few days. A month or two, and most are adoptable by anyone.

As I said earlier, the irrational hate demonstrated by some here is incomprehensible to me when basic proven fact and documented evidence from a multitude of sources is ignored and "rebutted" by single source propaganda and baseless accusation. The ad-hominem is just an added bonus.

You and all the other pro pit people here are just not able to refute the death toll this dog is responsible for so you throw pointless chaff at me to see if I’ll chase it. Oh and the occasional name calling, tsk tsk tsking etc. That’s it. Tha’s your action plan. Calling me a hater etc. doesn’t reduce the pit related carnage but that suits you just fine. Me - I don’t care what people, who fill a thread re ‘pit kills and eats family baby’ with posts sympathizing with pits, say about me - I just can’t value their opinion.

Identify the pit at the link? Why? Nations all over the world are trying to cope with the damage this breed causes - many are banning or adopting BSL’s because of the costs to society (insurance claims, mutilations, deaths) that are not on par with normal dogs. The unwillingness of pit owners to accept any responsibility and their insistance that the rest of us just get used to the death toll and increases to our insurance premiums and excessive police calls to shoot these animals - well no wonder you want me to chase some link and look at dog pictures - you have nothing decent to say.

Gosh, Don...I’m terribly sorry to hear about your collie.

I’ll keep him in my prayers.

Seven is way too young.

I feel guilty now for grieving the loss of my 14 year old Ibizan Hound, Jack.

I had him so long I can’t remember *not* having him, if that makes any sense.

It was like he’s always been here.

God bless you for your rescue/rehab efforts.

I did the same for Dobes for about 13 years, all by myself.

It was expensive, hard work but they all turned out to be well worth it.

Even the ‘basket cases’ left here for their permanent homes, happy and stable again.

Now I’ve got 3 Ibizan and 1 Portuguese Podengo Medio rescues.

Three of my other Ibizan rescues have since passed away, after having long, happy lives.
