A follow-up on long-term effects would be good.

I have been on the Atkins diet since November of 1999. I guess that is pretty long-term. I had blood work done monthly for 6 months a year ago or so, and all levels were good. One month, I had a spike in triglycerides, but that was due to a cheat weekend. :) So, yeah, I can attest to the fact that the diet works, and it is NOT DANGEROUS. At least, not for me.

Thanks for that testimony. Some people will have adverse effects from an intervention; some won’t. Obesity seems so that I’d address it w/anything that works (short of drugs, that is.)
