"Fáilte" says Dubya. "Yes, yes! Fáilte, Dubya" replies the smiling doctor. "Please. Come into the exam room with me."
"Céad Mile Fáilte" says Dubya.
"Yes, good to see you too Dubya. Now first we must do the sniff test"
"...and then the grapple test. This is most important, hold still now; so it doesn't pinch."
"Well, Dubya, all your tests check out just fine. Could you send the next patient in on your way out, please? I'm a bit tuckered out from all those tests. Slán, Dubya."
"Go maith slán, doctor", says Dubya to the doctor upon leaving.
And the moral of the story? Everybody should know basic Gaeilge ettiquitte when going to the doctor.
