Now, rather than waste time, they can all agree to meet at one spot at one time.
So, in the past, the appetite for mischief was tempered by the fact that maybe only ten or so members of the crew were together at any given moment.
Today, they get together and see that there are 300 of them - far more than two squadcars of police could hope to control. They are emboldened and take many more risks than they would have otherwise.
"CAN YOU DIG IT?"
I’m not faulting you but I reject categorically any excuse-making or complaint by police commanders and government types.
These are the same entities that find heaps of time and manpower to conduct East German style ‘safety’ checkpoints with twee slogans like Click It Or Ticket. There is no shortage of state police cruisers running Radar/Lidar looking for scofflaw ‘speeders’ doing 5 mph above an artificially low limit - later these same cruisers can be seen tooling up the Interstate at 95 mph while they chatter away on mobile phones. So much for speed kills.
Anyone who has attended a major sporting event, state fair, etc. has seen the vast numbers of police vehicles and personnel. Granted they have advance notice of such events but the equipment and manpower are still there, they simply need to be mobilized (the phones mentioned above would come in handy). Allowing feral animals of any race, religion, creed etc. to run riot is unacceptable as is allowing officials to offer up lame excuses. Any 21st century large police force - city, county or state - that does not monitor social media for possible flash mobs, violence and criminal damage is derelict in its duty.
There’s a time for handguns and there’s a time for 12 gauge shotguns. Guess which one I’d recommend.
