Mr/Ms Mod: could you please let us know why a subject that has been on the top of the Drudge page all day, about a group of violent incidents all over the US, is pulled from "breaking" and deemed "Chat" material, while Memorial Day History is deemed Breaking News-worthy?
PapaBear3625 thank you for pinging us volunteer Mods back here to your important question. It gives us the opportunity to tell you that duplicate threads are pulled on a regular basis. We have a Search function here on Free Republic which most people use before posting.
Duplicate threads is the reason we ask that all Posters use original published titles only. We pull threads which have the wrong title, like your thread for instance.
As to threads which are a combination of several articles, a mishmash of titles, and sometimes a plain old fashioned vent, those threads are often placed in the Chat forum, or our Bloggers forum.
As to why a Memorial Day History thread was placed in Breaking News, if you are serious about needing an answer as to why we Freepers choose to honor, cherish and respect those brave souls who made the ultimate sacrifice, if you really do not know why we would place a story in Breaking News about their National Day of Tribute, on Memorial Day, I think you might be in the wrong forum and wish you would consider leaving by the same door you entered.
Please drop us a note via Freepmail and let us know if you want an escort out now or if you want to think it over a bit.
Thanks.
