Panic Among "Suits" At ABC-TV. Will Scientologists Steal "Dancing With The Stars" Victory?
Friends and Fiends At TV Networks

Posted on 05/24/2011 9:19:50 AM PDT by MindBender26

Just heard from old network friend in NY. "Suits" at ABC are in panic mode over worries that Scientologists are flooding telephone and text voting to push Kirstie Alley to victory in tonight's final show of the DWTS season.

Alley is a Level 7 Scientologist and very public in her support of the "church." She credits it with saving her from drugs. The ABC "Suits" worry that Alley would do another "Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch"-type routine and tell America that she won the Mirror Ball Trophy because of Scientology.

That could be disastrous for one of ABC's top rated and most profitable shows. With the demise of Oprah and the failure of her network, DWTS is very popular with "The Great Unwashed".... the women TV is now totally targetted to.

Last season, there were rumors, never proved, that conservative audience telephone voters kept Bristol Palin on the show for an extended time because of their love for her mother. This year, the studio audience has been constantly packed with high-visibility Scientologists, such as Kelly Preston and others. John Travolta even made a special appearance on the show to support Alley.

ABC insiders say there are worries that Scientologists have been instructed to call and text as many times as possible to vote for the overweight and clumsy Alley. Some worry that a large number of calls coming from the 727 area code, covering Clearwater, Florida where Scientology is based, would be an indication of possible fraud in the voting.

Results will be announced tonight. Alley had the worst scores from the professional judges last night, and a victory tonight would certainly give rise to reports of Scientology taking extraordinary efforts to distort the results and buy themselves a victory. That could cost ABC and the Suits millions in advertising dollars next season due to lost viewership and public support.

As I said.... the Suits are worried.

ABC just loves this I bet. Ratings is the main game here!

WHO CARES

AS if people remember next week who won DWTS

Many of them watch just to see what that gay little gigolo Bruno (”Fronk”) gets away with on live TV

Worried? Are you kidding? I'd think they'd be jumping for joy. If people think there is going to be a televised train wreck they'll tune in in droves.

As far as people calling in for and watching their faves, I thought that was the whole point of the show. Scientologists buy the advertiser's products too.

Any contest which involves the public choosing the victor is suceptible to rigging. Such shows also do not guarantee that the “best” contestant will be chosen because the selection criteria is subjective. But from ABS’ persective, why do they care? If it gets the show ratings shouldn’t that be all that matters?

Kirstie Alley has the grace of a trained hippo.....she should have been gone long ago. It has to be the scientologists who kept her in the running...

As a side note, the show seems to be more about the acting of the judges, the brit guy especially, than about the dancers.......

Kirstie Alley was being interviewed on TV while she was unloading a truck of supplies after Hurricane Katrina. She did not have a press photographer with her and she looked every bit her age. It was clear she was not there for publicity.

She is okay in my book.

I’m just waiting for the gay activists to invade Dancing With The Stars.

Up until now, all couples have been boy/girl. Certainly that discriminates against the “gay” community.

And what will happen if an activist celebrity such as Rosie O’Donnell goes on this show? Would Rosie insist on a female dance partner?

Then again, the suits would really have problems, if ratings crashed because people don’t want to see the likes of Rosie O’Donnell dancing with a girl on a show like this.

...sure she does...

If you're implying I do, you're clueless. I read, and in another room where I can't hear the sound.

Sending Scientologists in Clearwater FL your name, address, personal details, and your credit card information for a diet seems perfectly logical. LOL. How many will fall for this?

This is what keeps ABC Execs up at night?
Not the fact that their "News" department has zero credibility,
but that a Scientologist my win a dance contest?
What a sad statement on network TV priorities.

But this is the way these shows go. People vote in blocks based on who they like, not the most talented. They did it for Palin too.

I like the show “The Sing Off” (acapella held every Christmas). The voters are pro judges, and only the last winner is decided by audience.

One of the reasons I can’t stand Idol is because the talent doesn’t win because no nothings do the voting.

Fraud? No. They are just following the rules. You can use as many phone lines you have access to, as well as texting, to vote multiple times.

Personally, I thought people kept voting for her hoping to see a heart attack on-air.
