No, he sounds like a populist leftist. When asked about unemployment in cities he talks nothing of real solutions, only vague "I'm going to bring the jobs home". No talk about ending the welfare state, no talk about maybe not extending unemployment benefits for 2 years, no talk about the damage labor unions are doing.
This guy has absolutely no conservative credentials, no grounding in conservative/libertarian intellectual thought, nothing. The base rightfully exploded at Bush for nominating Harriett Myers for a seat on the Supreme Court, there is simply no indication Trump would even understand what a conservative justice is.
On infrastructure spending, Trump sounds like a Democrat. Infrastructure spending? Why would conservatives support someone who sounds like Obama on this issue.
On Iraq, "I'm going to seize the oil!" Please. Doing that would undo every bit of good we accomplished in Iraq and probably spark a firestorm this nation is nowhere near ready or able to deal with.
Please. Trump is NOT a conservative.
Reagan was a populist.
This is really interesting. It’s like watching Rove go after O’Donnell - except O’Donnell has several billion dollars and a blistering comeback every time.
Popcorn anyone? :)
(go Trump!)
Might have to get a Trump bumper sticker for the ride, to put next to the Palin one...
I posted this on another thread. ...
Ill translate the populist talk. If you go to war against a nation, you seek reparations for the cost of the war. The World War I and II Allies sought and got reparations from Germany and Japan. Its nothing new. Germany finally paid off the Treaty of Versailles to the Allies in October, 2010 after 92 years. The US should have at least got a good oil deal from Iraq for our efforts.
Who does anymore?
